Reflection during MMSEL Class
Theoretical view of motivations
Today’s meeting explained about
theories of motivation, applying motivation in classroom context to improve
students’ willingness in studying and classroom management for productive learning
environment.
Motivation is like doping that strength
someone smoothly to get all things that he / she want to reach in a life. In
school context, motivation can determine students whether they can obtain
something meaningful or useless from learning process in the classroom.
Teachers should facilitate them to
boost up students’ motivation because motivation itself comes from internal of
students (Intrinsic) or external of themselves (Extrinsic). Finally, when
students have found their motivation, there will be learning process that
meaningful and purposeful.
Moreover, teachers should reflect
into deep themselves, do they have done a right way to boost up students’
motivation, if some student does not achieve the objectives of learning in
their classes or topics that they taught. Example: Probably students have
strong intrinsic motivation to learn mathematical science because they like
count, however the educator of math is too serious, firm and rigid in
presenting the subject, this condition absolutely can defeat the intrinsic
motivation of students so that they do not like the class or even the teacher.
We as the educator should advance
students’ motivation because it can create positive attitudes and atmospheres
during learning process.
