Summary and Reflection of Kathy Brewster's Class :)

Article about Kathy’s class is really inspiring me about how important and how crucial motivation in the classroom context. According to this article, we might see how Kathy Brewster as history teacher magically transforms this boring subject to be subject that successfully attracted the students and changed students’ mindset toward it. For instance, some students used to hate history, some others students hated the assignments which are tough, the rests are quite willing to study the history well because of interest and academic achievement’s need.

Some cases that might happen in another subject could be perfectly handled by Kathy. She tries to spread her motivation, passion, interest and spirit to all of her students. She is also trying to teach them with affective education way. She teaches with her heart, her feeling and her emotion. Then, she helps her students to be aware of their ability by guiding and motivation them.

I think, Kathy could be one of good example for me as teacher candidate. Perhaps I think English is enjoyable subject but who knows about students’ thought about it. Teaching is not only to teach and deliver the subject well. Its beyond that teacher is also expected to lead students to live theirs subject. Teacher also needs to build self-awareness and self-esteem as a main foundation to create good attitudes toward the subject.
